LANDIKOTAL: A delegation of traders led by Pakistan Borders Trade Council Chairman Syed Jawad Hussain Kazmi on Tuesday met Afghan Consul General Hafiz Mohibullah to finalize preparations for the industrial exhibition scheduled to be held in Peshawar in November.
The meeting was attended by Khyber Chamber President Yousaf Afridi, North Waziristan Chamber President Qadeer Dawar, Kurram Chamber President Hammad Kazmi, and other traders, exporters, and businessmen from tribal districts and Peshawar.
Talking to The News, Jawad Hussain Kazmi said that various bilateral issues were discussed in detail. He said that consultations on the first-ever Pak-Afghan joint industrial exhibition, scheduled for November, focused on finalizing the date and venue with the Afghan consul general.
Jawad said the joint exhibition would not only promote bilateral trade but also contribute to peace, social stability, and political harmony in the region. He announced that future exhibitions would also be organized in Islamabad and Kabul. He highlighted ongoing efforts to establish border markets along trade routes with Afghanistan, saying such initiatives would create more opportunities for business communities on both sides.
Khyber Chamber President Yousaf Afridi said the exhibition aimed to strengthen trade and social ties. He added that the first-ever Pak-Afghan industrial exhibition would be a three-day event, scheduled for the first week of November.Consul General Hafiz Mohibullah termed the initiative historic and said the industrial exhibition under the Khyber Chamber of Commerce would be a source of pride.
