Bonnie receives a very special package in the mail in the first 'Toy Story 5' teaser trailer

Woody, Buzz, and the gang may never see daylight again as a new generation of “smarter” toys threatens to banish them to the toy chest forever.

Disney and Pixar dropped the first teaser for Toy Story 5 on Tuesday, November 11, revealing that the gang’s next challenge is a high-tech threat unlike anything they’ve faced before. Set to hit theatres on June 19, 2026, the sequel brings the classic toys into the age of technology.

In the trailer, Woody, Buzz, Jessie, and the rest of the crew — including Bullseye, Slinky, Rex, and Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head — eagerly gather around to see what new toy their beloved human Bonnie has received.

That’s when they meet Lilypad, a frog-shaped smart tablet voiced by Past Lives star Greta Lee. According to a synopsis, Lilypad’s advanced tech “makes Buzz, Woody, Jessie and the rest of the gang’s jobs exponentially harder when they go head to head with the all-new threat to playtime.”

As the teaser closes, the ominous message flashes on screen: “The age of toys is over...?”

Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, and Joan Cusack return as Woody, Buzz, and Jessie, with Tony Hale reprising his role as Forky. Conan O’Brien also joins the cast as a potty-training gadget called Smarty Pants.

Director Andrew Stanton and co-director Kenna Harris said the film explores how the toy gang adapts to “today’s world of technology.” They added, “Having the remarkably talented Greta Lee bring Lilypad to life — balancing a playfully antagonistic tone with humour and heart — has been incredible.”
