Reese Witherspoon has recently reflected on leadership qualities at this year’s Women of the Year event.
The Legally Blonde actress shares a clip from Annual Harper’s Bazaar Women of the Year Awards where she elaborates in detail about living a life filled with curiosity and magic after she was honoured as cultural icon by Barbie’s America Ferrara.
“Leadership is not about a loudest voice in a rally. Sometimes it’s just about the quiet work that you are doing every day,” says the 49-year-old in a video posted on Instagram Story on November 9
Reese continues, “Keeping your head down, locked in as my 13-year-old likes to say, ‘Never wavering’.”
The Sweet Home Alabama actress also shares valuable advice about hard work and changing the system
“It’s about putting your money and your hard work where your mouth is,” remarks Reese.
Therefore, The Morning Show star says that she “encourages you all to look at your own industry, your own corner of the world and say, ‘What system am I accepting status quo? What do you think you can change?’”
“Because I am going to give you permission to change that system today,” explains Reese,
The actress and producer noted that people “have much more power than you think and you don’t need to wait for somebody else”.
She recalls, “I came to Hollywood a child with wonder-like eyes.”
“And I am standing here today as a woman with purpose in her heart and some of the greatest friends on earth realising the magic is still there but it turns out, we create all the magic there,” adds the Wild actress.
Meanwhile, Reese also shares a post where she expresses her gratitude to be part of Women of the Year celebration.
“So inspired by this group of accomplished women determined to change the world for the better!” states the actress in the caption under the post.
