KARAK: Awami National Party-Wali (ANP-W) Sunday announced to launch a protest movement against the alleged change in the route of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and asked the leadership of other political parties in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to join hands to protect the rights of the province.
Addressing a press conference here, ANP-W leaders Nawabzada Mohsin Ali Khan and Farid Toofan claimed that the southern districts would suffer a lot if the region was ignored in the CPEC. The nationalist leaders claimed that the federal government had changed the original route of the CPEC, depriving the KP of the benefits of the mega project.
“We have waited for a long time believing that ANP chief Asfandyar Wali and Jamiat Ulemai-e-Islam-F head Maulana Fazlur Rehman would take up the issue but their silence over the vital project is beyond our thinking,” said Farid Toofan.
