One Piece is setting sail for Season 3
According to Netflix, Xolo Maridueña has joined the hit live-action adaptation as Portgas D. Ace, the fan-favourite pirate with a fiery temper and even hotter powers.
Production for the new season will kick off later this year in Cape Town, South Africa, following the show’s early renewal in August.
Maridueña’s casting comes fresh off his success as Miguel Diaz in Netflix’s long-running Cobra Kai series. He also portrayed the DC Comics superhero Blue Beetle in the 2023 film.
The 23-year-old joins a growing One Piece cast along with Cole Escola, who was previously announced as Bon Clay, the flamboyant assassin and master of disguise.
Before Season 3 drops anchor, One Piece: Into the Grand Line returns with its highly anticipated second season on March 10, 2026.
The new episodes follow Monkey D. Luffy (Iñaki Godoy) and his Straw Hat crew as they navigate the treacherous Grand Line, introducing new faces like Tony Tony Chopper, voiced by Mikaela Hoover, and Miss Wednesday, played by Bridgerton’s Charithra Chandran.
Based on Eiichiro Oda’s beloved manga, One Piece is produced by Tomorrow Studios and Netflix, with Oda, Marty Adelstein, and Becky Clements among the executive producers.
