Queen Camilla isn’t just sipping tea in palace drawing room she’s out there opening the doors of Clarence House on Wednesday for a reception celebrating community volunteering.

The event brings together members of the National Association of Care Catering (NACC) and the Royal Voluntary Service (RVS) during the annual Meals on Wheels Week.

Camilla will join social media star Spudman, the jacket potato delivering viral sensation who’s on the RVS food truck as part of the charity’s new “Role of a Lunchtime” campaign, aimed at spotlighting more flexible and creative volunteering opportunities.

The reception at Clarence House promises to be more than a typical royal wave, it’s a hands on celebration of the thousands of volunteers turning everyday tasks into extraordinary community care.

As President of RVS, one of the country’s largest and most beloved volunteering charities, the Queen has become the beating heart of Britain’s community spirit from hospital wards to home libraries.

The service supports the NHS and vulnerable people through schemes like 'Home from Hospital' and community transport, holds a special place in Camilla’s royal portfolio.

She’s not only a visible supporter, but a genuine cheerleader, often dropping in on initiatives to thank volunteers personally and sometimes, even lending a helping hand herself.

In 2023, Camilla proved her passion wasn’t just ceremonial when she launched the Coronation Champions Awards with the RVS, celebrating everyday heroes who make extraordinary contributions across the UK.

She knows how to host a thank you in style. Her receptions at Clarence House have become royal hotspots for Britain’s everyday heroes.
