Jennifer Lawrence has recently broken her silence on taking a break from Hollywood in the past.
The No Hard Feelings actress reflected on her career and about the backlash she faced at the peak of her fame because of her outspoken persona.
When asked how did she perceive herself at the time when she was younger, Jennifer told The Interview, “Now, I am in my 30s and a mom, I can see that how young I was, like.”
“When I was a 23-year-old, I remember I was nominated for Silver Linings and someone said, ‘Everybody loves you, what does it feel like?’ I was like, ‘It feels like precarious’,” continued the Hunger Games actress.
Jennifer explained, “It’s going to come down. That’s just the nature of things.”
Interestingly, the Red Sparrow actress recalled she fell getting her Oscar and then next year she was “waving to fans” and tripped on a cone.
“I remember being like, that’s it nobody is going to believe that I fell two years in a row and I did,” remarked the 35-year-old.
The interviewer chimed in and said that people said that you “faked” it, to which Jennifer replied she didn’t.
“Everybody kind of thought that meant everything that I did was fake and that it’s a shtick, this is how it felt to me,” mentioned the Passengers actress.
Later, the interviewer asked Jennfier to elaborate on her statement, “You got sick of yourself”.
“I was sick of doing interviews and it’s really scary,” she continued.
Although Jennifer knew she’s “very blessed and lucky to have a great job”.
But “it’s terrifying and I needed a break from it,” stated the Die My Love actress.
“People needed a break from it and I took a break and enjoyed the time,” she pointed out.
Before concluding, Jennifer added, “It was a mutual breakup.”
