Rebecca Ferguson has expressed how she felt after her character in the globally acclaimed franchise Mission: Impossible was killed off.
Even though, she confessed to having fun working with the actors on the film, but she also felt that her role was eliminated at the right time.
The 42-year-old played the MI6 agent Ilsa Faust in the Tom Cruise starrer franchise from 2015 to 2023.
Her role was killed off before The Final Reckoning in 2025. Rebecca admitted that the character was phenomenal, it was still exhausting.
"It was a phenomenal character, but you can exhaust a character”, she said.
The Dune actress opened that the film series required a lot of commitment, time and preparation that people don’t see on screens.
She elaborated, “Two seconds of footage are a product of months of training, and sometimes whole scenes are thrown out of the window, and you’re told to pull together something different, because you’re shooting something else tomorrow.”
“You’re constantly living on tiptoes, which is exciting, and I love Tom, but you get to a point.”
For her, eliminating Ilsa from the film felt like a “natural break.”
Ferguson told The Independent, “But there was a natural break at the end of a contract for three films, and I think that suited all of us."
