Ewan McGregor expresses his excitement over Bafta Scotland Award

Ewan McGregor has recently expressed his excitement for earning the honourary award for Outstanding Contribution to Film and Television at the BAFTA Scotland Award.

After Bafta announces Ewan's name, the Big Fish actor said, “It’s so lovely to be thought of for this year’s BAFTA Scotland Special Award,” in a press statement shared via Deadline.

“I am excited to go to the event and looking forward to meeting with my peers there,” remarked the 54-year-old.

Ewan thanked BAFTA Scotland, adding, “Who knows, a new collaboration could be born out of such a thing.”

Over more than three decades of acting career, the Scottish actor made his breakthrough performances in the 1990s in movies like Brassed Off andShallow Grave.

Ewan also made his directorial debut in 2016 with American Pastoral, which is based on the novel of the same name. He was starred in the movie along with Dakota Fanning and Jennifer Connelly.

Earlier, the actor received awards for his roles in 2003’s Young Adam, Trainspotting in 2017 and Hollywood Walk of Fame star in 2024.

Meanwhile, Ewan will be presented with the honour at the Bafta Scotland awards ceremony in Glasgow on Sunday, November 16.
