Fast and Furious’ much-awaited sequel just received a fresh update, which might leave fans disappointed.
As per the latest reports, the future of the upcoming installment has become shaky as Universal Pictures have paused the plans of the new movie.
The fresh details suggest that the executives have not yet approved a final script as the studio is looking forward to lowering the cost before giving any green signal.
They want to make the film on a budget that is far low than the cost of the last movie.
Even though, lead actor Vin Diesel informed fans at the FuelFest that Universal had asked him to deliver the new sequel by April 2027.
But according to the reports of The Wall Street Journal, the executives are convinced that they will not move ahead with the project until the budget drops significantly.
The Universal Studio bosses want the new entry to be made in a budget of $200 million.
However, the most recent draft prepared for the film gives an estimated cost of around $250 million, which means that they will have to cut $50 million from the plan.
So far, neither a script has been approved, nor there is any set release date. The company has not yet secured contracts from most of the cast members.
If Universal succeeds in finding a cost-effective plan, than the film might arrive, otherwise, the franchise will end sooner than planned.
