MARDAN: The police have registered a case under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (Peca) against eight people, including Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) activists, for allegedly using harsh words against the army and the army chief, police said.
Officials added that Muhammad Karim, Additional Station House Officer of the City Police Station, registered a first information report against eight people.Those booked included Fawad Ahmed, a resident of Sadat Baba in Lundkhwar, Nouman Khan from Kandar, Garhi Kapura, Sardar Azam Khan from Dulatzai, Garhi Kapura, Roman Shah, a resident of Sharifabad in Takhtbhai, Muhammad
Anwar from Rustam, Khalil-ur-Rehman, from Shahbaz Garhi, Hazat Hussain, a resident of Gujarat, and Anwar Shah from Katlang.Sources told The News that most of the charged people were PTI activists. They were accused of using harsh words against the Pakistan Army and its chief by sharing posts on their Facebook pages.
