MARDAN: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Senator Khanzada Khan on Monday flayed the federal government for not giving relief to the industrialists of Khyber Pakhunkhwa in the federal budget.
Talking to The News he said that the industrial sector of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been badly affected due to the militancy. “Up to 65 percent of the industries have been closed while the owners of remaining industries are mulling to shift to other provinces. Unemployment is likely to increase in the province if that happens,” he feared.
The PPP leader said ignoring the industrial sector in the federal budget would put negative impacts on the overall development.
Senator Khanzada Khan demanded the federal government to give tax holiday to the industrialists in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa so that the industrialists from other parts of the country invest in this province and local businessmen are also encouraged.
Talking of the Panama papers leaks, the PPP leader said the federal government was using tactics in making the Terms of Reference (ToRs) in this connection to probe into the scandal. “This act of the federal government will damage the democratic system in the country because some elements do not want the system to continue in the country,” he added.
Senator Khanzada Khan said the PPP leadership gave sacrifices for the restoration of democracy and would protect democracy.
