PESHAWAR: Jamaat-e-Islami Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (Central) head Abdul Wasi has strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Bannu where two explosives-laden vehicles rammed into the cantonment wall, killing 12 people.

Expressing deep sorrow over the incident, Abdul Wasi, who is also the provincial chief of Milli Yakjehti Council, termed the attack as a barbaric and cowardly act. He also criticised the security measures of the government as inadequate, which, he said, were a reflection of its failure to protect citizens.

Abdul Wasi stated that the law-and-order situation in the province, particularly in Bannu, was already deteriorating. The fact that terrorists managed to bring explosives-laden vehicles into a high-security zone like the cantonment is a clear sign of security negligence. He accused the government of playing with the lives of its people, as such incidents expose the complete breakdown of governance.
