Gloom in Shangla after 6 miners die in Balochistan blast

ALPURI: An atmosphere of gloom hit Shangla after reports that six labourers belonging to the district were killed in an explosion in Harnai, Balochistan.

The explosion targeted a vehicle carrying coal miners, resulting in the deaths of 11 workers and injuries to several others. According to initial reports, an improvised explosive device (IED) was planted by the roadside and detonated as the pickup truck carrying the miners passed through the area.

The deceased miners include six individuals from Shangla district The victims were identified as Rahmat, a resident of Karora, Dolat Mand, a resident of Alpuri, Iqbal Hussain, a resident of Shorwa Ghat, Hanifullah, a resident of Alpuri, Rahmat Shahid, resident of Alpuri and Javed, resident of Lal Khani, Alpuri, Two miners from Shangla sustained injuries in the explosion.

The other casualties included individuals from Swat and Dir: They were identified as Iqbal Hussain, Swat, Javed, Swat, Umar Ali, Swat, Bacha Hussain, Gul Rahmatullah, Dir, Ayazullah, Dir and Rahmat Shahid, Dir.

The explosion occurred in the B-Area of Shahrag, specifically in the Takri Saifullah Khan Shela Coal Mines region, where miners working for Haji Shahbaz Coal Company were traveling in their vehicle after work.
