Rahmat Salam Khattak, along with his supporters, made the announcement at a press conference here.

Federal Minister for Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan Affairs and SAFRON, Amir Muqam, Captain (Retd) Safdar, former governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra, provincial additional secretary of information Arbab Khizar Hayat and other party leaders were also present on the occasion.

In his speech, Amir Muqam, who is also the provincial president of the party, reiterated the PMLN government’s commitment to steering the country out of economic and other crises. He said the economy was on a path to stabilization due to the government’s strong policies. Amir Muqam also highlighted efforts being made to provide relief to the public.

He criticized the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, claiming it had failed to contribute to the province’s development. He called on the provincial government to focus on improving the province’s development, suggesting that the chief minister should focus on real progress rather than comparison with other provinces.

He also recalled the significant contributions made by PMLN during the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) government, saving the country from default and attracting investment. Muqam noted that the Swat Motorway project, which was approved by former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, had been halted by the PTI government.

Captain Safdar, in his address, highlighted various development projects initiated by PMLN in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He expressed confidence that, under PMLN leadership, the province would experience prosperity similar to Punjab. Safdar expressed his desire to see the province succeed, adding that if Amir Muqam becomes the chief minister, he would transform Khyber Pakhtunkhwa into a thriving region. On the occasion, Amir Muqam presented Rahmat Salam Khattak with the PMLN cap, marking the formal acceptance of his membership.
