Experts say climate change warrants immediate attention

MINGORA: The University of Swat played host to a seminar and training workshop, where experts shed light on the devastating effects of climate change and the crucial role of green scale in mitigating its impacts.

The event was organized by local organizations in collaboration with the GIZ.Addressing the seminar, Dr Fayyaz Amin, along with Anwar Ali and other experts, emphasized that climate change was a global phenomenon that required immediate attention.

“Green scale plays a vital role in reducing the adverse effects of climate change,” Dr. Amin stressed.The experts called for a change in lifestyle and the adoption of green-scale practices to combat the challenges posed by climate change.

The seminar highlighted the pressing issues faced by Pakistan in general and Swat in particular due to climate change.Untimely rains, severe weather, shortage of commodities, water scarcity, and diseases were identified as some of the main consequences of climate change.

Anwar Ali of Lasona Organization stressed the need for awareness campaigns, stating that his organization was already conducting such initiatives in various universities of Malakand division.

The seminar concluded with a pledge that students of the University of Swat would take the lead in creating awareness about climate change and green scale.The students vowed to organize events and activities that promote environmental sustainability and practical steps to mitigate the effects of climate change.
