HANGU: The legal fraternity on Saturday staged a protest against the suspension of mobile network service and boycotted the courts.
The members of District Bar Association (DBA), including general secretary Aurangzeb Khan advocate, Hassan Khan advocate, Khan Amir Bugti and other lawyers said that the suspension of mobile network service in the district had caused severe difficulties for the public, students, businesses, and lawyers.
They said that the mobile networks in Hangu were shut down due to unrest in Kurram and protests on the Hangu-Kohat main highway. “While mobile and internet services have been restored in Kurram following a ceasefire, but mobile and internet facilities still remained suspended in Hangu.The lawyers’ leaders said that the issue of mobile and internet suspension had created severe difficulties in accessing information for students, lawyers, and journalists as well as maintaining contact for residents with relatives abroad.
The lawyers urged the government to restore mobile networks in the district immediately.
