TANK: The funeral prayer of the three cops, who embraced martyrdom in an attack, was held here on Sunday.
District Police Officer Tank Iftikhar Ali Shah and SP Investigation Nasir Khan, DSPHeadquarters Abdul Rasheed Khan, DSP Sub Division Jandola Syed Marjan Khan, Assistant Commissioner Jamshed Alam and a large number of people participated in the funeral prayer. The officers laid floral wreaths on the coffins of the martyrs and a police contingent presented a salute to them.
It may be recalled that three cops were martyred and five others injured in an attack on the outskirts of Tank city on Saturday. Meanwhile, Regional Police Officer, Dera Ismail Khan Range, Nasir Mehmood Satti visited Tank district.
Southern Range Commander Elite Force Atiqullah Wazir, Commander Dera Range Elite Force SP Arshad Mahmood and SP Counter Terrorism Department, Dera Range, Asif Mahmood also accompanied him.
The RPO held a meeting with District Police Officer Iftikhar Ali Shah, SP Investigation, DSP Headquarters and DSP Sub Division Jandola. In the meeting, the RPO paid tribute rich tributes to the sacrifices of police martyrs.
He urged the police officials to take care of the families of martyred policemen and utilize all resources for their welfare. He said they would not be left alone. He called for providing the best medical facilities to the cops who were injured fighting the terrorists.
He announced cash rewards and certificates of appreciation for the police officers and cops who fought against the terrorists during the attack. Later, the RPO visited the Hathala Police Station and checkpost.
He reviewed the measures taken to prevent possible attacks from different sides. The directed the cops ensure the use of bulletproof jackets and helmets and use of night vision equipment at night. The RPO visited the District Headquarters Hospital to inquire after the health of the injured cops.
