BANNU: Chairmen of village councils in North Waziristan, along with the local welfare body, Youth of Razmak, have demanded the immediate dismissal of the district education officer for mocking anti-corruption laws, threatening a protest campaign across the Waziristan region.

They specifically called for an inquiry into the illegal recruitments allegedly by the district education officer, involving 200 to 300 positions.

Talking to media at Bannu Press Club, dozens of the VC chairmen, including Sharifullah, Mir Saud, and Baitullah, along with Youth of Razmak president Gulabdin, accused the official of making numerous illegal appointments, demanding inquiries into the matter.

They highlighted the case of a teacher’s two sons, who allegedly secured two positions through direct inductions without tests or interviews, and also mentioned the appointment of non-locals to positions meant for the youth of Waziristan.
