PESHAWAR: The Christian community members on Tuesday staged a protest against the suicide blast in Gulshan-e-Iqbal Park in Lahore and urged the government to speed up its campaign against the terrorists and their abettors.
They were carrying banners and placards inscribed with slogans against the carnage and in favour of the armed forces. The protesters gathered outside the Peshawar Press Club to record protest over the gruesome incident in which over 70 persons, mostly women and children, were killed and 300 hundred injured.
Asif Raj was leading the protesters. The speakers condemned the suicide attack and express grief over the loss of lives in the incident.
They said that any religion didn’t allow killing of innocent people, saying unarmed and innocent people were being targetted by the militants which was deplorable. They said that the army was fighting a war against militants and the nation stand by its armed forces in war against terrorism.
The protesters said to target and destroy the sleeping cells and hideout of militants was the need of the hour. They called for accelerating the ongoing action against terrorists and dismantle their network.
Meanwhile, the non-governmental organisations (NGOs) on Tuesday condemned the Lahore suicide attack and demanded the government to protect the life and property of the citizens. The activists of the Blue Veins, Civil Society Network and other NGOs gathered in front of the Peshawar Press Club to stage the protest.

They said that terrorist have no religion and were the enemy of humanity.
