88 special persons appointed in different departments, says EDO

Executive District Officer, Community Development Rawalpindi, (EDO, CD) Aqeel Ahmed Khan has said that on the special instructions of Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif so far 88 special persons have been appointed in different government departments and private sector.
He said that these persons including 48 Blind and 40 Special persons had been appointed in the offices of Civil Defense Department, Directorate Colleges, Fatima Jinnah University, Secondary Education, Higher Education Commission, EDO Works, University of Engineering Taxila, Health Department and in private sector also. He said that these appointments have been made on merit. He also said that rehabilitation work for the welfare of disabled persons would remain continued.
He revealed these while presiding over a meeting held to review the process and progress of appointments of special persons in different government departments. Director Social Welfare, Rawalpindi, Muhammad Aslam Maitla, Deputy District Officer Health, Rawalpindi Dr. Abdul Jabbar, Deputy EDO Education Dr. Muhammad Arif, President Disabled Persons Association, Rawalpindi, Muhammad Nabeel Satti and District Information Officer, Rawalpindi, also attended the meeting.
EDO (CD) Aqeel Ahmed Khan has said that it is our religious and moral duty to pay equal attention on the betterment of special persons so that they could become useful part of our society. He said that the concerned departments and persons must deal with the special persons sympathetically. He also directed the focal persons of different departments to perform their duties with full devotion and dedication to resolve the problems of disabled persons. He also directed the concern quarters not to depute any disabled person in far-flanged areas and they must be appointed on the nearest point of their residences.
