Runner-up allowed to get PM’s nomination papers

The Returning Officer of the constituency NA-120 on Friday issued directions to provide attested copies of nomination papers along with statement of assets of Premier Nawaz Sharif submitted for the general elections 2013 to the runner-up candidate of the constituency, Dr Yasmin Rashid.

Returning officer Mubashar Nadeem Khan has issued the directions on an application submitted by Dr. Yasmin Rashid. Yasmin in her application contended that she required attested copies of nomination papers of Premier Nawaz Sharif as she wanted to check the information provided by him regarding his assets and children depending on him. The returning officer after hearing arguments of Yasmin directed his staff to provide her attested copies of nomination papers along with statement of assets. After getting directions from returning officer, Yasmin Rashid while talking to the media said that she wanted to see the asset details provided by the PM of his children.  She said that PM may have concealed the facts as usual even in nomination papers. Later, while talking to The News Dr. Yasmin said that to file a case against Nawaz Sharif seeking his disqualification after Panama papers, attested copies of his nomination papers were required. She said that they had copies of his nomination papers which were obtained in 2013, however, they were not attested. She said that according to documents available with her the premier had shown Maryiam Nawaz as his dependent but Panama papers showed that Maryiam own companies.
