Neurologist describes treatment of neck pain, sciatica in ‘Subhe Pakistan’
Expert display of Hajama treatment presented

KARACHI: Renowned neurologist and chairman of Neuro Sciences Department in Baqai University Dr Arif Haraikar has said that the main reason for cervical diseases is depression. The intensity in pain grows due to rigid muscles owing to an unbalanced diet and domestic problems, he said.
Dr Arif expressed these views during the morning show ‘Subha Pakistan’ hosted by renowned host and scholar Dr Aamir Liaquat on Tuesday. Dr Arif said that there were several reasons for muscular pain, especially in Karachi, which was common among the people of Pakistan and this exerts pressure on the muscles of neck and disc.
He said that bad and disorderly traffic was also a reason for this disease, especially for motorcyclists when they travel on bumpy roads. It unbalances their physical condition due to jolts on the roads which effects neck movement.
Dr Arif further informed the audience and viewers that most of the people who work in offices on computers have to face muscle problems. During interview with Dr Aamir, the neurologist gave useful suggestions on how to avoid sciatica (slipped disc).During the programme, another well-known expert of Botany Dr Bilqees narrated how neck pain could be avoided by using the Hajama method in which impure blood is released from the body. She carried out a practical demonstration on a woman sitting in the hall. She said that Hajama is an Islamic way of treatment and it is proved through Sunnah that several diseases could be avoided by using this method. During the programme, she revealed several methods to the women on how to avoid several diseases.
During the show, comedian Majid Jehangir and Rauf Alam mesmerised the audience and viewers through their parodies.Earlier at the start of the Morning Show, Dr Amir Liaquat, by quoting traditions inscribed in the ‘Kitabul Qaboor,’ said that the incidents of the grave are full of lessons. At the end of the show, renowned spiritual personality Maulana Bashir Farooq Qadri mentioned the wazaif and offered dua for the solution of problems.
