LHCBA condemns Charsadda attack

The lawyers observed a complete strike on Tuesday to condemn suicide blast outside district courts at Charsadda. The lawyers stayed away from the court proceedings and only appeared in urgent nature of cases.
The Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) held a meeting to condemn the incident and to condole with the families of the victims of the blast. Addressing the meeting, LHCBA president Rana Zia-ur-Rehman said terrorists had no faith or religion and killers of innocent people did not deserve any leniency. He demanded of the federal and provincial governments make foolproof security arrangements on the court premises where people come to seek justice.
He announced a relief fund for the bereaved families. LHCBA secretary Anas Ghazi said those involved in such barbarian acts had no regard for humanity and they should be dealt with an iron hand.

The lawyers did not join lower courts due to which hearings of cases were put on next dates without any development. The lawyers demanded the government ensure security of courts and legal fraternity, saying that it was the prime responsibility of the state to provide foolproof security to the courts and lawyers.
They demanded the government arrest culprits at the earliest and constitute a committee to keep an en eye on the security measures being provided to law related institutions.
