Drone strikes kill 16 in N. Waziristan

- August 24, 2012 - Updated 1326 PKT - From Web Edition

MIRANSHAH: Three US drone strikes in different areas killed sixteen persons and injured fourteen others in North Waziristan Friday, Geo News reported.

According to sources, the US drone fired missiles in three different areas in Shawwal area of North Waziristan that killed 16 persons.

The strikes in North Waziristan came a day after Pakistan summoned a US diplomat to protest over the attacks, calling them "unlawful".

A security official said several drones were flying over the village at the time of the strike.

Another security official confirmed the strike and casualties, adding that the identities of the dead were not immediately clear.

Pakistan has repeatedly criticised American drone strikes in its territory, calling them counter-productive.

Attacks by unmanned US aircraft are deeply unpopular in Pakistan, which says they violate its sovereignty and fan anti-US sentiment, but American officials are said to believe the attacks are too important to give up.

The killer should compensate in $$$$ to all Killed persons == One Hundred Thousand... $ 100,000/== Dollars $$$ + Damages of Property immidiately ...

americans speak rubbish by calling our people terrorists. We must: 1. destroy their drones (@ zero human cost) 2. Read more newspapers like the news instead of BBC etc who emphasise Pakistani guilt in terror.

We have shown the world that we don't have courage to stop drone attacks.

What categorically threatens national sovereignty is not the drone strikes, but obsession with death, violence and religion.
