RAWALPINDI. An important witness, named Wasal Ahmed, in-charge of Darul Uloom, Haqqania, during his statement here on Thursday confirmed that four terrorists, who took part in the assassination of Benazir Bhutto, had links with Maulana Samiul Haq’s seminary Darul Uloom Haqqania in Akora Khattak and majority of them were its regular students.
Witness Wisal Ahmed has provided all the relevant registers and other records of terrorists included Baitullah Mahsud, they took part in the assassination of Benazir Bhutto, former prime minister of Pakistan.
The Anti-Terrorist Court (ATC), Rawalpindi, Judge Pervez Ismael Joya, heard BB murder case in Adiala Jail and adjourned further hearing till March 2, 2015.
During his statement before the ATC, he said that some of the accused had studied and resided in Madrassa Darul Uloom, Haqqania, Akora Khattak, before and during the day of occurrence of Liaquat Bagh, Rawalpindi.
According to relevant information provided by Wasal Ahmed in charge of Darul Uloom Haqqania; Abdullah alias Saddam, son of Ali Rehman, resident of Village, Lakaro, Mohmand Agency; Nadir alias Qari Ismail, son of Musafar, resident of Khazana Kalbat, district Swabi; Rasheed Ahamad alias Abdul Raheem Turabi, son of Qudrat Shah, resident Village Srikh Morzai PO Batagram tehsil Shabqadar District Charsaddah; and Faiz Muhammad, son of Shah Nazar, R/o Village Zaida District Swabi.
Rashid Ahmed Turabi is arrested while some terrorists, including Baitullah Mehsood, were killed.“Wasal Ahamad, Nazim-e-Taleemat and in charge of Darul Uloom, Haqqania, in his statement under Section 161 CrPC also disclosed that accused Said Arab, son of Azim Khan, resident of Chota Lahore, Swabi; Gul Roz ,son of Ali Akbar, resident of Chota Lahore, Swabi; Muhammad Shafique, son of BadshahGul, resident of Gar Tajik, Peshawar; and Rasheed Ahamad alias Abdul Reheem Tarbi, son of Qudrat Shah, resident of Village Srikh Morzai PO Batagram, Tehsil Shabqadar Distt. Charsadda, were also students of Darul Uloom, Haqqnia, and were arrested by police in Kamra Missile Attack case 2008 for their alleged connection with Tehrik Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
Joint Investigation Team (JIT) has completely examined the role of Madrassa Darul Uloom, Haqqania, management, regarding harbouring of terrorists involved in this case.
Gul, resident of Gar Tajik, Peshawar; and Rasheed Ahamad alias Abdul Reheem Tarbi, son of Qudrat Shah, resident of Village Srikh Morzai PO Batagram, Tehsil Shabqadar Distt. Charsadda, were also students of Darul Uloom, Haqqnia, and were arrested by police in Kamra Missile Attack case 2008 for their alleged connection with Tehrik Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
Joint Investigation Team (JIT) has completely examined the role of Madrassa Darul Uloom, Haqqania, management, regarding harbouring of terrorists involved in this case. According to FIA report, “The investigation team seized the original forms pertaining to the above mentioned accused persons vide registration No 21716, 17816, and 23629, Wasal Ahamad in statement under 161 CrPC promised to produce the original admission registers in court as and when required. The investigation team during inspection of record found that above mentioned four accused involved in the assassination of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto remained students of Madrassa, Haqqania, as a result their complete particulars have been confirmed.”
During his statement, Wasal Ahmed told the court that on 12-05-2010, SIG team, headed by Inspector Naseer Ali Kan, visited Madrassa Darul Uloom, Haqqania, Akora Khattak, and met me. I promised to produce all the relevant registers of admission and discharge from madrassa for inspection of investigation team. The investigation team checked all the registers in order to identify accused involved in the assassination of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto in Rawalpindi, he disclosed in the court.
The attack had been planned in Akora Khattak by former students of Madrassa Darul Uloom, Haqqania, and one of the prime suspects in the case has revealed to investigators that Bhutto had been targeted due to her stance on the Lal Masjid operation.
An Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) official confirms in the report that he had recorded a telephonic conversation in which Baitullah Mehsud had issued instructions to some of the arrested terrorists to assassinate Bhutto. However, the ISI had refused to appear before the court, saying that the CD regarding the telephonic conversation had been prepared by the Intelligence Bureau (IB).
The report revealed that in May 2010, a special FIA team had visited Darul Uloom, Haqqania, in Akora Khattak.The in charge of Darul Uloom, Haqqania, has confirmed that accused Abdullah alias Sadam, Nadir alias Qari Ismael, Rashid Ahmed alias Rahim Tarabi and Fiaz Muhammad alias Kiskat were former students of that madrassa.
