The construction of the Government Degree College in Wahi Pandhi was started in 2011, but even after five years the basic building structure is incomplete. This has forced people to send their children to Johi – some 30 kilometres from Wahi Pandhi – to get higher education.
Poor families who cannot afford the travel expenses have to restrict the education of their children to matriculation. The Sindh education secretary should order an inquiry into the delay in the construction of the college.
