Bab-e-Peshawar Flyover inaugurated
PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak formally inaugurated the Babe-e- Peshawar Flyover on Monday. The project costing Rs1.7 billion at Phase III Chowk Hayatabad was completed by the provincial government. The construction work was carried out by National Logistic Cell (NLC) in record period of five months.
It is at the confluence of settled and tribal areas that will regulate the vehicular traffic from both Hayatabad and tribal areas. The flyover is the first of its nature in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and only the second at national level. The length of the bridge is 2,128 m.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan, Jamaat-e-Islami ameer Senator Sirajul Haq, Speaker Provincial Assembly Asad Qaiser, ministers, senators, advisors, members provincial assembly, district nazim Peshawar and others attended the function.
The chief minister said: “Today is a historic day for the people of Peshawar as they are seeing themselves the completion of the historic Bab-e-Peshawar Flyover within a short span of five months”.
Enumerating his governments other projects within Peshawar, the chief minister said that widening and reconstruction of University Road, landscaping projects, restoration of parks, projects for green Peshawar and other projects of the sorts would be put on ground in the near future that will lead to the revival of Peshawar as city of flowers.
