IHRA suspends two psychiatric rehab centres

Islamabad : The Islamabad Healthcare Regulatory Authority (IHRA) carried out inspections of four psychiatric and rehabilitation centres of Islamabad here on Wednesday, suspending two centres and issuing notices to another two for violation of Covid-19 SOPs and for keeping multiple patients in a limited space.
The IHRA suspended the services of two psychiatric and rehabilitation centres for keeping multiple patients in a limited space, hiring unqualified staff, keeping people captive in the facility, and indulging in unethical medical practices. The centres were also conspicusous for poor hygiene and ventilation, and have been directed to discharge all local patients within three hours and outstation patients within five days.
