Pensioners Facilitation: Centre, Complaint Redressal Cell inaugurated

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Mahmood Khan on Thursday inaugurated the upgraded Pensioners Facilitation Centre and Information & Complaint Redressal Cell at the office of the KP Accountant General.

Special Assistant to CM Kamran Bangash, Controller, General Accounts, Farrukh Ahmad Hamidi, Accountant General Murtaza Khan, Information Secretary Arshad Khan and other officials attended the ceremony, said a handout.

Mahmood Khan said reforms were underway in the tax regime of the province, which had resulted in a significant increase in the annual revenue collection of the KP government.

He stated when his government came into power, the annual revenue collection in KP was Rs 31 billion which had now increased to Rs56 billion. The chief minister added that despite the difficult financial situation due to COVID-19, the KP government made no increase in the provincial taxes, rather it provided significant relief to people in the various provincial taxes.

He said the credit for reforms in the public sector entities went to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI), adding in 2013, the party’s provincial government had started the reforms process.

Touching upon the public friendly initiatives of the KP government, Mahmood Khan said that Citizen’s Facilitation Centres and Service Delivery Centres were being established to facilitate people in the provincial departments and institutions.

He said more reforms would be introduced in all the departments directly linked to the people so that these departments could deliver as per the expectations of the general public.

The chief minister appreciated the reforms introduced in the Accountant General Office and expressed the hope that the reforms process would continue in order to facilitate the public as much as possible.

Earlier, the chief minister formally inaugurated the upgraded Pensioners Facilitation Centre and Information & Complaint Redressal Cell and visited the various sections of the centres. He was also given a detailed briefing about the facilities being provided to pensioners there.
