Maryam kick-starts election campaign in AJK today
ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) Vice President Maryam Nawaz will address her first public meeting in Muzaffarabad today (Thursday) as part of the campaign for elections in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) scheduled to be held on July 25.
Sources said the schedule of Maryam Nawaz for election campaign in the AJK was approved by former prime minister Nawaz Sharif on the recommendation of the party President Shehbaz Sharif.
“The senior party members were also of the view that Maryam Nawaz successfully campaigned in bye-elections and helped party candidates win their seats against the ruling party candidates. So whole the party along with PMLN President Shehbaz Sharif was convinced that Maryam Nawaz could mobilise party support base in the AJK through her public meetings,” sources said.
