NAB grills top bureaucrat Nabeel Ahmad in assets case
LAHORE: Investigators of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Wednesday grilled Secretary, Specialised Healthcare & Medical Education Department Punjab Barrister Nabeel Ahmad Awan in an investigation of assets beyond means against the top bureaucrat.
It has learnt that the NAB is conducting a forensic audit of assets of Nabeel Awan, including the audit of land registry which the accused claimed that it got from inheritance. Moreover, forensic audit of ink and font on original documents obtained by the NAB of properties of the bureaucrat in question is also underway.
The NAB has also sought record of assets of Nabeel Awan from different districts including Faisalabad. Previously, Nabeel had appeared before the NAB in a case related to Punjab Entertainment Company (PEC).
In this inquiry, the NAB has claimed that in the year 2008, Barrister Nabeel as being Additional Secretary CM Secretariat, Lahore, allegedly, without any lawful authority took over the record/inventory of the PEC.
