NOWSHERA: Awami National Party (ANP) secretary general Mian Iftikhar Hussain said on Friday his party would support the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to make legislation to ensure protection for children from any form of abuse.
“The ANP will extend full support to the government in punishing those who subjected the 8-year-old girl child (HN) to abuse and later killed her,” said the nationalist politician while talking to the media at Ziarat Kakakhel Sahib area where had gone to offer condolence to the aggrieved family.
Mian Iftikhar Hussain recalled that the ANP-Pakistan People’s Party coalition government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had passed the Child Protection Bill. He said the bill had all the provisions for the protection of children as per international laws.
Mian Iftikhar suggested to the government to consult the document for the incorporation of any sections in the proposed legislation.
The NAP leader expressed grave concern over the child abuse and murder case in Nowshera and called for exemplary punishment to the culprits as that would discourage such horrific crimes in future and protect our children.
