Q1). Respected sir, I would appreciate your guidance on career counselling. Please note that I have successfully passed BS honors in Computer Science along with BEd. I did my BEd after a 1 year gap of my BS. I had some health related problems due to which I could not do MS in Computer Science. Now as I can’t take up difficult subjects; can you please guide me what subject I should study? Meanwhile, I’m doing a 2-year master to fulfill the requirement of lectureship criteria. (Attiya Habeeb – Sukkhar) Ans: In my opinion with your current profile, you should be quite capable to start a career as a teaching in a computer science related subject. You need to work at least for a couple of years before starting an Education Masters. You can do Masters in Education at the same time and this will keep you in the same field of your interest too.

Q2). Dear Abidi Sab, I need information regarding specialisation after my current studies. I passed Bachelors in Mathematics, Economics with Computer Science. Please guide me which subject I should study in my masters. Do you think I can study MBA/MSc as a specialization or study Finance, Economics, IT? (Ziaullah Khan, Karachi) Ans: I think Economics or Finance can be your suitable subjects as they relate to your previous academic background. This will surely be beneficial later on for higher degree in Finance. You can do MSc and not MBA because I can’t recommend you doing this as a fresh graduate. You must get relevant experience of at least 2 to 3 years and then go for MBA.

Q3) Sir, I did Engineering in Electronics and did job in Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority for 3 years. But I am a bit authoritative, therefore, please guide me if I wish to do CSS or if I go to study a masters then what should I study? (Khaleeq uz Zaman Cheema, Gujrat)

Ans: I think you are going to need a lot of time for preparation of CSS. Therefore, you should go for Electronics/ Telecommunication Continued on page 15

Engineering masters to enhance your previous academic and professional profile. As for being authoritative you don’t need to have many masters, instead you should be multi-tasker coupled with determination.

Q4). I passed Intermediate(Pre Medical) with 75% marks after improvement of a year. Sir, I wanted to get admission in medical college and it is my desire but due high merit I could not make it. Now I have two options either to do BS Psychology or DPT. I will appreciate if you can please guide me which subject would be good for me as a profession in Pakistan. (Aashir Sohail, Lahore)

Ans: I would advise you to study Bachelors (4 years honors degree) in Microbiology or Biochemistry as this way you can become a medical student without MBBS. After this, you will have many work options in hospitals alongside doctors like pathologists, health specialist and to your surprise, they are very high in demand.
