ANP criticises govt for ban on flour transportation to KP
PESHAWAR: The Awami National Party (ANP) on Saturday criticised the government over the ban on flour transportation to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from Punjab.
Through a statement, the party's provincial president, Aimal Wali Khan, said the ban had negated the rulers claim of “Do Nahi Aik Pakistan.” He said a 20-kg flour bag was being sold at Rs1,200 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Aimal Wali Khan said the ban had reinforced the impression that Punjab was the real Pakistan. Pakistan was a multi-ethnic country and every province should have control over its resources, he added.
However, he said the bigger province had control over its resources but smaller ones were deprived of the right. He believed that the bigger province was also usurping the resources of the smaller provinces. “If Punjab’s right over wheat and flour is being recognised, our right over water, gas and electricity would also be accepted?” he asked.
