SUKKUR: Former Sindh chief minister and veteran politician Ghous Ali Shah announced on Monday to part ways with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
“I have no association with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif anymore,” Shah said as he announced the establishment of a new party of disgruntled Muslim League factions. “We will unite all the Muslim League factions at one platform,” he said, adding that the alliance would be formally set up after Eid-ul-Fitr.
“Nawaz Sharif is not a national leader but the leader of Punjabis, as he had raised the slogan of “Jaag Punjabi Jaag” while ZA Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto were national leaders. The veteran politician said he had already met with Pervez Musharraf, Chaudhry Shujaat Husain and Pir Pagara. He said he also spoke to PML-Zia and nine other factions of Muslim League.
Ghous Ali Shah said India is a rival and is against sovereignty of Pakistan. He said General Raheel Sharif, a brave and professional army man, timely retaliated to the Indian threats. He said the Sindh government had completely failed to deliver and added that the DG Rangers had pointed out the facts in his statement.
He said the PPP masterminded election rigging in Sindh. He mentioned that the PPP continued its traditional delimitation which is tantamount to pre-poll rigging of the local bodies elections. Ghous Ali Shah said his new party would contest the local bodies elections. He said there are clouds of the imposition of governor’s rule in Sindh. “We will welcome it,” he added. “There is big difference between our protest and the protest of Imran Khan. We will demand justice from courts while Khan adopted the way of sit-ins.” Meanwhile, Syed Ghous Ali Shah condoled with ex-senator Chaudhry Sajid Hussain of PML-F on the demise of his wife.
