HANGU: The officials of the district education office assigned duties for the local government elections on May 30 to even some deceased and retired teachers, sources said.
Official sources told The News here on Sunday that three teachers - Noor
Janan, Shamim Badshah and Muhammad Khan - who had passed away sometime back have been assigned election duty.
Meanwhile, Shaheed Zaman, who got retirement from the education department since long, has also been assigned the election duty. Muhammad Iqbal, who is a retired teacher and now a candidate for the local government elections, has also been assigned the duty.
Another teacher Ghulam Rahman has been assigned duty at two polling stations
at Wach Bazaar and Babu Tang.When contacted, Deputy District Education Officer Hangu, Iftikhar Khan, said that these were technical mistakes and would be rectified soon.
