Petrol goes up by Rs2.89 per litre, diesel Rs5.92

ISLAMABAD: The government on Wednesday increased the petrol prices by Rs2.89/litre, diesel Rs5.92 and kerosene by Rs5.94 a litre for the month of February 2018, effective from today (Thursday). Besides, Light Diesel Oil (LDO) price has also been increased by Rs5.93/litre.

It is worth mentioning that the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) had recommended to the government increase of Rs2.98 per litre in price of petrol, Rs10.25 per liter high speed diesel, Rs12.74 per litre in superior kerosene and Rs11.72 per litre increase in the price of light diesel oil (LDO).

With the government’s announcement of the increase, the price of petrol from Thursday will go up to Rs84.51 per litre from the earlier Rs81.53 and diesel price will be increased to Rs95.83/litre from the current price of Rs89.91 a litre. Kerosene price has been increased to Rs70.26 from earlier Rs64.32/litre and the LDO price has also increased to Rs64.30/litre from the earlier price of Rs58.37.
