FACE Music Mela held

FACE in collaboration with US Embassy, Islamabad, and other local partners, organised the 4th FACE Music Mela, followed by the first-ever of its kind, public Electronic Dance Music night.

Islamabad’s Foundation for Arts Culture and Education (FACE), spearheaded by Zeejah Fazli, is an organisation, whose mission is to strengthen and empower During the selection process of artists for 2017’s lineup, FACE joined hands with FACE Bandwagon and Taazi, to create a visionary platform for virtuoso music artists and music lovers across Islamabad to showcase their talent. FACE along with a panel of judges, handpicked the best deemed, emerging talent and guided them at each step on their way to the big stage at Music mela2017.

The finalised list of artist’s lineup during the three-day Music Mela include world renowned names within the Pakistani music industry like Attaullah Khan Esakhelvi, Mai Dhai, Qawalistan alongside many contemporary emerging and already established musicians such as Call the Band, Azal, Uzair Jaswal, with the aspiration of creating soulful music for their audience.

This year, to make FACE Music Mela 2017 more exciting the third day consisted of live Electronic Dance Music, complimented by an extravagant choice of food stalls representing a diverse range of food idealistic to beat the summer heat. The first ever of its kind public EDM Night included an exhilarating line-up of DJs with the purpose of accommodating and promoting EDM as a music genre at a large-scale as well as guarantees to keep the audience moving their feet to the beat, till the music stops.

The highlight performance of the Electronic Dance Music night was in the form of a collaboration between DJ Shumraiz, Ali Noor, Imran Aziz Mian and Zeejah Fazli for the very first time, ensuring the audience a mesmerising performance. communities through the universal language of arts via cultural interactions.

FACE Music Mela is a prime example of how Pakistani musicians themselves are taking the initiative to establish the foundations of a thriving music industry. Workshops will also be held featuring key personals from within the music industry talking about the future of music within Pakistan, along with their concerns. The workshops will cover a diverse range of sub-disciplines pertaining to Music, Theatre as well as Dance.
