FAST University holds National Solutions Convention

The FAST University on Saturday held its annual event, National Solutions Convention (NaSCon) 2017, bringing together and combining the mental prowess of students from all over the country and putting it to good use.
Besides students, people from different organisations also attended the event.
The university held its first NaSCon in 2014. Since then, the event has been the flagship one of the university’s annual social calendar.
According to the organisers, the NaSCon has not only promoted the importance of team work but also provided a platform for all the students to test their abilities as it was a student-run mega event offering the best technological and industrial set of opportunities over the years.
The event has around 7,000 participants representing colleges and universities from all over the country.
Among the educational institutions, which participated in the event on Saturday, were Bahauddin Zakariya University; Government College University, Agricultural University, Faisalabad; Forman Christian College, Lahore; University of Management Sciences, Fast University, Lahore; King Edward Medical College, Rawalpindi Medical College, University of Sargodha, Gift University, AJ&K University, Air University, Comsats University, Fast University, Faisalabad; Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences and Fast University, Peshawar.
In the drama festival, each team performed a drama on the topic of their choice with a clear theme and message.
The dramas highlighting any political or national issues including social taboos received appreciation from the audience. In the Faiz Ahmad Faiz bilingual declamation competition, each participating institution was represented by a team comprising two speakers, including one to speak in Urdu and the other in English. One spoke on a serious topic and the other on a humorous one for three to five minutes. In the jeopardy segment, different teams competed in an epic quiz competition and proved their worth, while in the art exhibition, the students sold their sketches, doodles, calligraphic works, paintings, and hand-crafted napkins.
There was a competition, where participants expressed themselves and show their creativity on a canvas with colours and pencils by painting and sketching.
Also, a calligraphy competition was organised with the intent to revive and promote the classical art of Islamic calligraphy. The event was meant to encourage young artists to produce works of the healthy invigorating art.
Among other events were Game of Blogs, Battle of Brains, Speed Programming, Mobile App Development, Web Designing Competition, Software Development Competition, Engineers Developing the Society and Robo Race.
