‘Amjad Sabri Dispensary’ opens in Liaquatabad
A dispensary set up in Liaquatabad No 4 and named after slain Qawwali icon Amjad Sabri was inaugurated by Mayor Waseem Akhtar on Wednesday.
The inauguration was done in the presence of Amjad Sabri’s mother, brother and son. In his talk with the media, Mayor Akhtar praised Sabri for his services to the country and said efforts would be made to ensure his legacy lives on.
The mayor reiterated the local government’s resolve to provide the best possible facilities to citizens despite a shortage of resources.
Akhtar said the inauguration of the Amjad Sabri Dispensary was part of an overall uplift drive in which existing schools, dispensaries, parks and playgrounds would be upgraded.
DMC Central Chairman Rehan Hashmi also spoke at the ceremony and said he was hopeful that the medical facility would prove of benefit to the approximately 200 patients treated there on a daily basis.
