Murtaza’s case: Ghinwa demands reinvestigation
SUKKUR: The 20th death anniversary of the chairman of Pakistan People’s Party (Shaheed Bhutto), Mir Murtaza Bhutto, was observed in Garhi Khuda Bakhsh Bhutto and other parts of Sindh, including Sukkur, Khairpur, Shikarpur, Ghotki, Naushahroferoz and Jacobabad, on Tuesday.
Ghinwa Bhutto, the widow of Mir Murtaza Bhutto, in her address to mark the death anniversary of her husband demanded re-investigation into “the assassination of Murtaza Bhutto and his friends”.
She said that 20 years had passed since “the assassination of Murtaza Bhutto”, but none of the killers were brought to justice.
Commenting on the current political situation in the country, Ghinwa said that foreign hands were behind the political parties protesting against Nawaz government to destabilize Pakistan. She said that those who had been calling Nawaz Sharif corrupt were themselves more corrupt.
Ghinwa Bhutto said that when the judiciary had disposed of the case of Murtaza Bhutto, she took the case to the masses, and she was confident that the masses would do justice. She said that she had been forced to have a political alliance with the PPP of Zardari, but she refused and said that the masses would decide the fate of the PPP (SB).
The PPP (SB) of Larkana district arranged Quran Khwani on Murtaza Bhutto’s death anniversary at the Bhutto House in Naudero. Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistan People’s Party (SB) separately observed the 20th death anniversary of Mir Murtaza Bhutto, the elder son of former prime minister and founder chairman of PPP, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, on Tuesday at Garhi Khuda Bakhsh Bhutto, Naudero and Larkana.
Leaders and workers of the two parties separately gathered at Garhi Khuda Bakhsh Bhutto to pay tribute to late Mir Murtaza Bhutto for carrying forward the mission of his father, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.
Quran Khwani was also held at Al-Murtaza in Larkana. A number of party leaders, workers and well-wishers of late Murtaza Bhutto visited the mausoleums of the martyrs of Bhutto family on the occasion of the 20th death anniversary of Mir Murtaza Bhutto. The PPP women wing of Larkana district also arranged Quran Khwani in Larkana.
