Sehat Card funds utilization: Muzzammil says KP leads other provinces in health sector

PESHAWAR: Adviser to KP Chief Minister on Finance Muzzammil Aslam on Thursday said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government led other provinces in the health sector by utilization Sehat Card reserve funds.

“During the first four months of the current fiscal year, Rs502.2 million from the Sehat Card reserve funds were spent on the public,” he said in a statement.Muzzammil Aslam said that treatment for fatal and expensive diseases was carried out through the Sehat Card reserve funds, and from July to October, Rs135.3 million were spent on cardiology services from these funds.

The advisor said that Rs31.4 million from the reserve funds were used for cancer treatment, while Rs80.6 million were spent on liver transplants. He said that from July to October, Rs88 million were spent on kidney transplants through the Sehat Card reserve funds, and during these four months, Rs165.5 million were spent on cochlear implants.

The adviser added that Rs1.3 million were spent from the Sehat Card reserve funds on Intensive Care Unit, dialysis, and other diseases, while in the previous fiscal year, Rs824.4 million from the reserve funds had also been utilized.Muzzammil Aslam stated that this year, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Finance Department has already released Rs9.65 billion for the Sehat Card, which is separate from the reserve funds.
