ISLAMABAD: The hearing of the Toshakhana-II case against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) former chairman Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi was adjourned without any proceedings on Wednesday until November 27.

No formal hearing could take place on the scheduled date, after which the court fixed the next date and notified the legal team representing the PTI founder.

In another case, Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Afzal Majuka reserved his verdict after hearing arguments in the controversial tweet cases against PTI Senator Azam Swati. During the proceedings on Wednesday, Swati submitted written arguments and recorded his statement under Section 342. Accompanied by his lawyer Sohail Swati, he appeared in court as both parties concluded their arguments. The court reserved its decision, which will be announced on Nov 5. It may be recalled that two cases were registered by the NCCIA against Azam Swati over alleged controversial statements against state institutions on social media.

Judge Afzal Majuka also presided over another case, adjourning the hearing of the alleged murder of TikToker Sana Yousuf until Nov 5 due to the absence of defence counsel. The public prosecutor Raja Naveed Hussain was present, but no progress could be made. The court ordered witnesses to be summoned again at the next hearing. A case against the accused, Umar Hayat, had been registered at Sumbal Police Station under relevant sections of murder.

Separately, Judicial Magistrate Mubashir Hassan Chishti issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against former Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa chief minister Ali Amin Gandapur in the liquor and arms recovery case. Gandapur and his lawyer, Raja Zahoorul Hassan, failed to appear during the hearing. Citing his continued absence, the court ordered for his arrest and production before the court on Nov 11. The case against Gandapur was registered at Bara Kahu Police Station on charges of liquor and illegal arms possession.
