Who will replace outgoing info secretary?
ISLAMABAD: Federal Secretary for Information and Broadcasting Ambreen Jan will retire on October 22 after completing her term. She is the only Grade-22 officer in the Information Group.
Following her retirement, a Grade-21 officer from the Information Group will be appointed as the new secretary. According to sources, Prime Minister’s Press Secretary Arshad Munir and Additional Secretary of the Information Ministry Ashfaq Khalil are being considered for the position, with Arshad Munir being the senior of the two.
Other Grade-21 officers currently in the group include Tariq Khan, who is awaiting posting, Imrana Wazir, Executive Director General of the Information Service Academy, Samina Farzeen, Executive DG of the Electronic Media and Publications, Saeed Ahmed Sheikh, DG Radio and Executive DG of the Digital Communication Department.
The final decision on the new appointment will be made by the prime minister.
