PIA to launch flights to Muscat from Lahore, Islamabad
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced the launch of new direct flights to Muscat from Islamabad and Lahore.
According to the national flag carrier, the first flight from Lahore to Muscat will depart on October 29, followed by the commencement of Islamabad–Muscat flights on October 30. Both routes will be operated using Airbus A320 aircraft.
PIA said the new routes are expected to boost revenue and improve connectivity for passengers traveling between Pakistan and Oman.
In a social media post, the airline stated that from the scenic beauty of the Margalla Hills to the timeless charm of Muscat, it was proud to restore direct flights between Islamabad and Muscat, reconnecting cultures, memories, and loved ones.
Meanwhile, PIA is set to resume flight operations to the United Kingdom after several years, with its first flight from Islamabad to Manchester scheduled for October 25.
British High Commissioner Jane Marriott welcomed PIA’s return to UK skies, calling it a “historic moment” and a positive step toward strengthening bilateral relations. She said the resumption of direct air links would bring Pakistan and the United Kingdom closer, fostering greater travel, trade, and tourism opportunities.
