Islamabad: Federal Secretary for the Ministry of Federal Education Nadeem Mahbub visited Al-Farabi Special Education Centre for Physically Handicapped Children in Sector G-8/4 to review the upgraded facilities and assess the effectiveness of ongoing special education interventions.

On the directions of the Secretary, the Directorate General of Special Education has undertaken steps for the welfare of the enrolled children.

The secretary appreciated the newly enhanced and upgraded Physiotherapy, Music Therapy, Speech Therapy, and Play Therapy units while recognising the Centre’s commitment to inclusive learning and holistic rehabilitation.

A major highlight was the demonstration of EKKO, a therapeutic device developed by EME-NUST and acquired under a CSR initiative, designed to aid speech and cognitive therapy for individuals with cerebral palsy and autism.

Further, the Prosthetics Lab and smart screen integration are enabling personalized support and digital learning. The secretary commended DG (special education) for his efforts to upgrade the institute.

Under the Directorate, enrollment campaigns continue to expand, reaffirming MoFEPT’s commitment to making special children educated, empowered and self-reliant.
