Islamabad: Despite clear orders from the Islamabad High Court (IHC) against suspension of Assistant Professor Muhammad Akram, the administration of Islamabad Model Postgraduate College (IMPC) H-8 has refused to restore him to his position.

The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) had suspended Professor Akram on October 3 for three months.

The suspension order was challenged before the IHC, where Justice Muhammad Asif heard the petition filed through Advocate Faisal Manzoor. After examining the arguments, the court suspended the operation of the impugned notification and directed the respondents to submit their para-wise comments before the next hearing.

Through the petition, the counsel for the petitioner argued that the suspension order violated the Civil Servants (Efficiency and Discipline) Rules, 2020, as no inquiry or substantiated charge existed against the petitioner.

He further contended that Professor Akram, who holds no administrative position, could not influence any inquiry proceedings.
