Rangers, police chalk out joint strategy to curb crime in Sindh
A high-level security conference was held at the Headquarters of Pakistan Rangers, Sindh, chaired by Director General Pakistan Rangers Sindh Major General Muhammad Shamreez and Inspector General of Sindh Police Ghulam Nabi Memon.
The meeting reviewed the overall law and order situation in Karachi and across the province, with a focus on strengthening security measures and improving coordination among law enforcement agencies.
Senior officials, including the Additional IG Karachi, Additional IG CTD, Additional IG Special Branch, all DIGs, the Joint DG IB, and senior officers from Rangers and other intelligence agencies, attended the conference. According to a Rangers spokesperson, the session emphasised the need to enhance coordination between the Rangers, police, and intelligence agencies to ensure more effective joint operations against terrorists and criminal elements.
Instructions were also issued to tighten checking at all entry and exit points of the city. The participants decided to devise a comprehensive and effective strategy to curb extortion, target killings, illegal display of weapons, and other crimes. Discussions were also held on making security arrangements foolproof for the business community and foreign nationals through increased patrolling and snap checking.
The conference further underscored the importance of inter-provincial cooperation among law enforcement agencies to counter anti-state activities and ensure lasting peace across Sindh.
