The Anti-Vehicle Lifting Cell (AVLC) on Friday sought Interpol’s assistance to trace a luxury vehicle stolen from the United Kingdom and suspected to be in Karachi.

According to AVLC officials, a formal request had been sent to Interpol for the vehicle’s complete tracker activity log, particularly from February 2025 to date. European luxury vehicles were usually equipped with satellite tracking systems, which could help pinpoint their movements.

Earlier, Interpol had indicated that the stolen vehicle’s location was traced to Korangi Road in Azam Basti. Following this, the police issued an alert to all units, instructing them to carefully inspect any vehicle matching the description. Once recovered, authorities would determine whether the car entered Pakistan through legal channels or forged documents.

The stolen vehicle, a black Range Rover Sport, was reported stolen from the British town of Harrogate in November 2022. AVLC officials noted that vehicles with British number plates could move freely across European countries, raising the possibility that falsified documents were used to transport it from Europe to Asia. The police said Interpol had been asked to provide the vehicle’s complete tracker history to assist in the ongoing investigation.
